Estonian Design Centre's mission is to make design visible, acknowledge design as something that gives an added value and to create an inspiring, innovative and cooperation focused environment for design development.

Vision:

Estonian Design centre is the developer of the design field, collecting and disseminating information, knowledge and skills of design. Our aim is that people would acknowledge design as added value for products and services and as a tool for the realisation of innovation.
Design helps to change the environment around us more functional, comforatable, beautiful and easier to use.

Vision of the Estonian Design Centre for the year 2020:

- Estonian enterprises and the public sector institutions use estonian design on a strategic level

- Estonian designers offer a competitive design service for both local and foreign market

- Estonian design is valuable for estonians

- Estonian design is visible and available

- Through usage of design the environment around is more human centered

- Already a student realizes the essence of design

The strategic goals of the Centre are:

1. Increasing the skills of the designers both in business and design

2. Supporting the use of strategic design both in Estonian companies and public sector institutions to promote innovation and creation of world class brands

3. Marketing the design field in Estonia and abroad in order to create a favorable environment for offering the design service.

4. Supporting the development of design policy both at regional and national level to promote the use of design through governmental regulations.

5. Helping to teach the basics and processes of design in general education schools in Estonia.
